Just received Studio to AL7 upgrade, installed it on a PC with a DV500plus (4.50a drivers) and Studio 9 Plus. Tha DV500plus works fine with the original Premiere 6.5, and also with Studio 9 (which sees it as a Studio AVDV Deluxe). However AL7 EZcapture does not see it at all. By default all of the drop-down list boxes that should allow selection are greyed out and fixed to point to IEEE1394 as the only available capture device. Appears to suggest that DV500plus and Studio AVDV Deluxe boards can be used with AL7; but what boards and what drivers? Please will someone with a DV500plus or Studio AVDV Deluxe that is recognised and works in AL7 let me know how they did it. (a) If it is a DV500plus What driver are you using - DV500 v4.50a, Studio AVDV Deluxe hardware installer 1 (2.0.0.27), or something else?

Did you have to do anything extra to get EZcapture to see the card? (b) If it is a Studio AVDV Deluxe Is it the older version ('Callisto') board with the Firewire sockets nearest the retaining screw end of the bracket (board as supplied with Studio 7 and earlier releases of Studio 8), or is it the newer version ('Bender'?) with the Firewire sockets furthest from the retaining screw end of the bracket? If it is the older 'Callisto' board type, what driver are you using with it - the current 'Studio AVDV hardware installer 1' (2.0.0.27), or something older?

Thanks, Richard. I've got the PCI 700 as I understand it. Came with my Studio 9 AV/DV Deluxe. It's using the Pinnacle Marvin Bus Driver v2.1.23.0 I have a hunch the only reason this version of the driver is installed, is because previous to installing L7, I installed 9 Plus and upgraded to Studio 10 Plus. So far I can capture with it, Full DV works, but mpeg2 gives me an sound Out Of Sync condition and I haven't been able to output analog out of it for recording to my vcr. I don't know yet if it is a limitation of support of this device or one of the bugs yet or possible 3rd option, me (unlikely right? Hope this helps, Mark. The behaviour (able to capture but not output) sounds 'as expected' friom what I have read elsewhere - but IMO not fully satisfactory. I am looking to use either the DV500plus (masquerading as a Studio AVDV Deluxe), or a a real Studio AVDV Deluxe from the early days of Studio 8 (both of these boards are marked 'Callisto Rev. 7' on the silk-screen; they are identical to look at except for the part numbers on a few chips. Since this (Pinnacle) hardware is supported by Studio IMO it is not unreasonable to expect it to be supported by a Liquid upgrade from Studio. To any Pinnacle/Avid support staff who are reading this: I would like to see this hardware supported and able to perform the following tasks (a) Capture from analogue-in to DV AVI using EZcapture; EZcapture to have access to all of the capture-time video/audio controls provided by the card. (b) Previewing of edits - even if not always in real-time; but sufficient to be able to immediately observe the effect of applying a filter etc. On an attached monitor/TV set as well as on the PC.

(c) Analogue-out to tape - even if only possible from a fully-rendered timeline or a previously-created DV AVI file. Liquid supports the above when using a Moviebox Deluxe or 700-USB - so why not with Pinnacle PCI boards too? Regards, Richard.

Just before the release it was speculated it would support the PCI studio 10+ as well as Studio cards and the DV500. However there has been so much issue with just getting AL7 to work as advertised these features have been on a back burner somewhere.

There is no documentation at all for these features at this time. So I am guessing that once Avid has an opportunity to breathe (they have been very busy) I am sure we will get additional information to help us figure out how to use there very important features.
